Turns out that daily trips to the dog park are keeping Asher’s anxiety down to a manageable level. He’s hardly bothered by the same noises that used to set him off. Today was the fourth park day in a row. I come home from work, get his leash and harness on him, and off we go.
He met a couple of Yorkies today. Dagger and Olive (I think). He doesn’t like the big dogs, but he’s always ready to play with the other little guys. He doesn’t even want Dagger’s toy. He just wants to run. He’s faster on three legs than some of the dogs are on four.
Oh my goodness, look at him go!! Your pup just makes my heart skip a beat 🙂 To see the changes in him and how happy you have made each other is just amazing. And his interaction with the others is just fantastic!
Thank you again for sharing, sitting here with a big old silly grin on my face 🙂

Aw, thanks. He’s come a long way in just the few months I’ve had him. I had no idea what I was going to do with a three-legged dog, or how much he’d be capable of. And now he’s zooming around like a little demon and befriending total strangers at the park.
Soooo adorable! I wish all dogs were as friendly as Asher, that’s wonderful!
Yeah Tripawds can definitely zoom around that’s for sure. Make sure he takes breaks at the park so he doesn’t wear out his joints too soon. Good job!
That friendliness is why I got him. At the shelter, he climbed into my lap and licked my face. I thought I was special, but it turns out he’ll do that to anybody. If you’re at the dog park and you’re sitting down, you will eventually get a lap full of Asher.
He’s actually really good about taking breaks. He’ll just lay down on the grass and watch the other dogs run until he’s ready to go again. I’m going to look into some supplements for him to keep those joints strong.
